§ Legal
Terms of Use
The rules governing your use of our financial calculators, guides, and educational content — including the disclaimers and dispute terms that protect both of us.
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and WalletWaypoint (“WalletWaypoint,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of walletwaypoint.com and its calculators, guides, comparison tools, and other content (collectively, the “Site”). Please read them carefully. Section 14 contains a binding arbitration agreement and a class-action waiver that affect how disputes are resolved.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. Your continued use of the Site after we post changes constitutes acceptance of those changes.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) and able to enter into a binding contract to use the Site. The Site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13.
3. Educational Purpose Only — Not Professional Advice
All content on WalletWaypoint, including articles, guides, comparisons, and calculator results, is provided for general educational and informational purposes only. Nothing on this Site constitutes financial, investment, tax, legal, accounting, insurance, or other professional advice, and nothing on the Site creates a fiduciary, advisory, or professional-client relationship between you and WalletWaypoint.
You should always consult a qualified professional before making any financial decision. You are solely responsible for your own financial choices, and you should not rely on the Site as the sole basis for any decision. The information here is intended to help you understand your options, not to replace personalized professional guidance.
4. Calculator & Tool Disclaimer
Our calculators provide estimates only and should not be treated as guarantees of actual financial outcomes. Results depend on the values you enter and on assumptions that may not reflect your actual situation.
- Calculators use simplified models and may not account for all fees, taxes, or market conditions.
- Interest rates, tax brackets, and other financial data may change after publication.
- Results are approximations intended to help you explore scenarios, not to predict exact outcomes.
5. Accuracy & Availability
We work to keep the Site accurate and up to date, but we make no guarantee that content, rates, or data are current, complete, or error-free. The Site and its features are provided on an “as available” basis, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree that you will not:
- use the Site in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
- scrape, crawl, harvest, or use automated means to access or collect content except as permitted by our robots file and normal search indexing;
- copy, reproduce, republish, or redistribute our content or calculators except as allowed in Section 7;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code or underlying logic of our tools;
- introduce malware, attempt to gain unauthorized access, or interfere with or overload the Site or its infrastructure; or
- misrepresent your affiliation with WalletWaypoint or use the Site for any fraudulent or harmful purpose.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, calculators, tools, designs, text, graphics, and other materials on WalletWaypoint are owned by WalletWaypoint or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive license to access and use the Site for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission.
You may share links to our pages and reference our content with proper attribution for non-commercial purposes. “WalletWaypoint” and our logo are our trademarks and may not be used without permission.
8. Feedback & Submissions
If you send us feedback, suggestions, corrections, or other ideas, you grant WalletWaypoint a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use them for any purpose without any obligation or compensation to you.
9. Third-Party Links & Affiliate Relationships
The Site contains links to third-party websites, including affiliate partners. These links are provided for your convenience, and we are not responsible for the content, accuracy, products, or practices of external websites.
Some links are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you click through and sign up or make a purchase. This does not affect the price you pay or our editorial recommendations. For details, see our affiliate disclosure.
10. Advertising
The Site may display advertising served by third-party ad networks and their partners. Advertisers and ad networks are solely responsible for the content of their ads and the products or services they promote. Any dealings you have with advertisers are between you and the advertiser, and we are not responsible for those interactions.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT, CALCULATORS, AND TOOLS ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. We specifically disclaim all implied warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, as well as any warranty that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WalletWaypoint and its operator, contributors, and affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any financial losses, lost profits, or damages of any kind arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Site, its content, or its calculator results — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. You use the Site and its tools at your own risk.
Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site will not exceed the greater of one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100) or the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve months before the claim (the Site is free to use, so this amount is typically zero). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WalletWaypoint and its operator, contributors, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any third party.
14. Dispute Resolution, Arbitration & Class-Action Waiver
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY — IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING YOUR RIGHT TO FILE A LAWSUIT IN COURT AND TO HAVE A JURY TRIAL.
Informal resolution first. If you have a dispute with us, you agree to first contact us at hello@walletwaypoint.com and give us 30 days to resolve it informally and in good faith before starting an arbitration.
Binding arbitration. If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and WalletWaypoint agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except as stated below.
Class-action waiver.You and WalletWaypoint agree that each may bring claims against the other only in your or its individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not preside over any form of class proceeding.
Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small-claims court, and either party may seek injunctive or equitable relief in court for actual or threatened infringement or misuse of intellectual property.
30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing hello@walletwaypoint.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms and stating your intent to opt out. If you opt out, the remaining sections of these Terms, including the governing-law and venue terms, still apply.
Severability. If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) will be severed and may proceed in court; the rest of this Section and these Terms will remain in effect. This Section survives termination of your use of the Site.
15. Governing Law & Venue
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. For any dispute that is not subject to arbitration, you agree that the exclusive venue will be the state and federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update or modify these Terms at any time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and for material changes we will take reasonable steps to provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
17. Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including if we believe you have violated these Terms.
18. Severability & Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and WalletWaypoint regarding the Site and supersede any prior agreements. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
